"Nargoko" (mother nature) encumbuses both Dua and Ititja moieties. For the aboriginal people everything in the world is put into one of these catogories‚ be it a rock‚ animal‚ tree person etc. They are foundations of their law and way of life‚ depicting relationship´s with everything from birth. An aboriginal person inherits their moiety from their farther´s side. David is of the Ititja moiety but said "I can paint both stories (dua‚ ititja) from my mothers and fathers side". It is clearly shown in this painting as kangaroo (dua) and emu (ititja). David Blanasi began this painting late 2000 with help from his son Marcus and was still in the process of painting when in August 2001 David disappeared. This was while collecting timber for didgeridoo´s in the Beswick area. The painting was only finished late last year by Micky "Duguran" Hall a fellow didjeridoo and song man in the Wugularr (Beswick) dance group.
